Course Information

How does the course work?

Themis Bar Review gives you everything you need to pass the bar in a streamlined, on-demand format. Our Directed Study mode provides you with a structured and sequential set of daily tasks, to be completed in order, so you know exactly what to study when. With our Integrated Learning System, you get comprehensive outlines, practice multiple-choice questions, practice essay questions, on-demand lectures, and corresponding interactive handouts. Students who would rather study at their own pace have that option with our Flex Study mode. Best of all, the two modes work together, so if you want structure with a bit of flexibility built in, you have that option, too!

How long is the course, and when does it start?

Depending on your jurisdiction, the recommended Directed Study schedule begins 8-10 weeks before the date of the bar exam. For those who want to start early, course access generally begins in early March for the July exam, and in early November for the February exam.

How are your courses administered?

Themis courses are administered online. Through our interactive web portal, you will access your entire bar review course, including lectures, outlines, practice questions, and simulated exams. You will also be able to contact Themis staff, including Tech Support, Academic Support, and your state director.

Why online? It is the best way to offer you:

  1. The most flexibility
  2. Our proven memory-retention methodology
  3. The best price.

How is the course work delivered / how does your program work?

Your Dedicated Essay Grader, a licensed attorney trained in bar review essay grading, will be your guide as you work through the course. In addition, a Personal Attorney Adviser provides you with test-taking tips, study strategies, information about your bar exam, and practical solutions to common essay writing errors in a weekly broadcast message.

How does Themis track my progress?

Themis provides you with Practice Exams and thousands of practice questions that help you assess your knowledge of key bar exam topics and pinpoint weak areas for later review. Additionally, your Dedicated Essay Grader will provide you with personalized written feedback on your graded essays to help gauge your writing abilities, determine how well you present your analysis and arguments, and suggest areas for improvement. Our myProgress tracker also keeps track of the assignments you have completed and those you have left, and lets you know how you're doing relative to set goals and to your peers.

Getting Help

What if I need help? Does Themis provide a support system?

You are never alone with Themis! We provide 24/7 support during your bar review. At Themis, you will interact with much of our staff via email, phone, and most significantly, the myThemis Portal. In addition to receiving weekly broadcast messages from your State Director through the portal, you will submit your essays for grading and feedback, and receive answers to both your substantive questions and questions about the exam in general.
